AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Airparts (NZ) Ltd. FU 24 Series Aeroplanes AD/FU24/65 Aileron Pushrods 3/2008
Applicability: Pacific Aerospace Limited Model FU24 aircraft fitted with aileron push-pull rods P/N 08-24015-1 in accordance with modification PAC/FU/0340. Requirement: 1. Inspect the pushrod ends per Pacific Aerospace Limited Service Bulletin (SB) No. PACSB/FU/091 issue 2.
2. If there is any detectable play between the pushrod and the insert or evidence of working rivets, replace the rivets in accordance with SB No. PACSB/FU/091 issue 2.
Note: CAA NZ DCA AD/FU24/177 dated 28 November 2007 refers. Compliance: 1. Inspect within the next 50 hours time in service (TIS) and thereafter at intervals not to exceed 150 hours TIS.
2. Before further flight after the effective date of this AD. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 13 March 2008. Background: This AD is prompted by reports of loosening rivets securing the threaded inserts in the ends of the aileron control pushrods P/N 08-24015-1. Aileron push-pull rods P/N 08-24015-1 have been installed on aircraft embodying modification PAC/FU/034.
