Cessna 206 Series Aeroplanes AD/CESSNA 206/64 Seat Base/Back Attach Bracket 5/2008
Applicability: Cessna Model 206H, S/N 20608216 through 20608283 and Model T206H, S/N T20608445 through T20608662, T20608664 through T20608671, T20608673, T20608674, T20608676 through T20608681, T20608683 through T20608689, T20608691, T20608692, T20608694 through T20608696, T20608699 through T20608701, T20608703, and T20608704. Requirement: For crew seats only, follow Cessna Aircraft Company Single Engine Modification Kit No. MK206-25-10, dated 23 April 2007 or later approved revision, as specified in Cessna Aircraft Company Service Bulletin SB07-25-04, dated 23 April 2007 or later approved revision.
Note 1: FAA AD 2008-05-09 refers.
Note 2: This Airworthiness Directive is applicable to the front row seats only. Modification to seats 3 & 4 (2nd row) is not mandated by this Airworthiness Directive. Compliance: Within the next 50 hours time-in-service after or within the next 6 months, after the effective date of this Airworthiness Directive, whichever occurs first. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 8 May 2008. Background: This AD results from reports of the seat base/back attach bracket failing where it is welded to the seat base. We are issuing this Airworthiness Directive to prevent failure of the seat base/back attach brackets, which could result in the seats collapsing backwards during flight with consequent loss of control.
