AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Boeing 727 Series Aeroplanes AD/B727/210 Auxiliary Fuel Tank Systems 6/2008
Applicability: Model 727 aeroplanes, equipped with an auxiliary fuel tank system installed in accordance with the following United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificates (STC): Aircraft Model STC Number STC Holder 727-200 SA1350NM DTAA, Inc 101 Deer Meadow Court St Charles MO 63304 727-100 ST0158AT Southeast Aero-Tec, Inc 675 Oleander Drive Merritt Island FL 32952 727-200 & -200F SA2033NM & SA1474SO Southeast Aero-Tec, Inc 675 Oleander Drive Merritt Island FL 32952 Requirement: Deactivate the auxiliary fuel tank system, as follows: a. For aeroplanes modified in accordance with STC SA1350NM - In accordance with a deactivation procedure approved by the Manager, FAA Wichita Aircraft Certification Office (ACO). b. For aeroplanes modified in accordance with STC ST0158AT, SA2033NM and SA1474SO - In accordance with a deactivation procedure approved by the Manager, FAA Atlanta ACO. Any auxiliary fuel tank system component that remains on the aeroplane must be secured and must have no effect on the continued operational safety and airworthiness of the aeroplane. Deactivation may not result in the need for additional Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA). Note 1: Technical information regarding the auxiliary fuel tanks is available from: a.
