AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Embraer ERJ-190 Series Aeroplanes AD/ERJ-190/7 Cargo Compartment Pressure 6/2008 Equalisation Valve
Applicability: Model ERJ-190 aircraft, serial numbers 19000002, 19000004, and 19000006 through 19000060. Requirement: Action in accordance with the requirements of ANAC AD 2007-11-02 Amdt 39-1219.
Note: Embraer Service Bulletin No. 190-21-0019 original issue, or later ANAC approved revision, refers. Compliance: As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of 5 June 2008. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 5 June 2008. Background: The manufacturer has determined that in certain instances the pressure equalisation valve was not installed on the left hand bulkhead blowout panel in the forward and/or aft cargo compartments during production. This condition, unless corrected, could affect the effectiveness of fire detection, containment, and suppression.
