Boeing 737 Series Aeroplanes AD/B737/320 Krueger Flap Actuator Support Fitting 6/2008
Applicability: Model 737-200 series aircraft, line numbers 814 through 826. Requirement: Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 2008-06-09 Amdt 39-15421.
Note: Boeing Special Attention Service Bulletin 737-57-1129 Revision 3, or later FAA approved revision, refers. Compliance: As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of 5 June 2008. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 5 June 2008. Background: The FAA received reports of cracking due to fatigue and stress corrosion of the support fittings of the Kreuger flap actuator. Undetected cracking of the support fittings could result in fracturing of the actuator attach lugs, separation of the actuator from the support fittings, severing of the hydraulic lines, resultant loss of hydraulic fluids, and consequent reduced controllability of the aircraft.
