AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Dornier 228 Series Aeroplanes AD/DO 228/14 Nose Landing Gear Strut Support 7/2008 DM
Applicability: Model 228-100, -101, -200, -201, 202, and -212 aircraft. Requirement: 1. Action in accordance with the requirements of RUAG Alert Service Bulletin ASB-228-272.
2. Action in accordance with the requirements of RUAG Service Bulletin SB-228-274.
Note: LBA AD D-2008-149 refers. Compliance: 1. For aircraft with a nose landing gear (NLG) part number A-531000F00F or any other NLG with exchange cylinder part number 531020F00C, installed:
a. With the affected NLG having accumulated more than 4,000 flight cycles, or unknown flight cycles:
Accomplish within 50 landings after 16 May 2008, unless already accomplished.
b. With the affected NLG having accumulated less than 4,000 flight cycles:
Accomplish within 500 landings after 16 May 2008.
2. For aircraft with all other NLG variants installed:
Accomplish within 600 flight cycles or 6 months after 16 May 2008, whichever occurs first. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 16 May 2008.
