AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Cessna 400 Series Aeroplanes AD/CESSNA 400/115 Engine Mounts 9/2008
Applicability: Model 401 and 402 series aircraft, and Model 414 aircraft, which have been modified in accordance with Supplemental Type Certificates SA2424WE or SA117NW; incorporating Allison turboprop engines. Requirement: Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 76-16-07 Amdt 39-2694.
Note: Engine mounts modified in accordance with American Jet Industries Service Bulletin 400-1 dated 7 June 1976, or later FAA approved revision, constitutes terminating action to the modification and repetitive inspection requirements of this Directive. Compliance: As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of 28 August 2008. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 28 August 2008. Background: The FAA requires certain actions to detect and correct possible failures of the engine attachment tangs of part number PN5002 engine mounts. This Directive is issued to ensure compliance of future imported aircraft.
