AD/BD-700/1 - Elevator PCU Attachment Bolts (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Bombardier BD-700 Series Aeroplanes AD/BD-700/1 Elevator PCU Attachment Bolts 12/2008 TX

Applicability: Bombardier Aerospace BD-700-1A10 and BD-700-1A11 aeroplanes, serial numbers (S/N) 9002 through 9222, equipped with elevator PCUs part number (P/N) GT411-3800-5 or GT411-3800-7. Requirement: 1. For all elevator PCU P/N GT411-3800-5 and for elevator PCU P/N GT411-3800-7, S/N 0615 and lower, excluding S/N listed in Table 1 below, which have accumulated 1000 hours air time or more as of the effective date of this AD accomplish the following:

a. Inspect and lubricate the PCU attachment joints in accordance with Service Bulletin (SB) A700-1A11-27-024 basic issue dated 2 October 2008 or later revisions approved by the Chief, Continuing Airworthiness, or SB A700-27-066 basic issue dated 2 October 2008 or later revisions approved by the Chief, Continuing Airworthiness, Transport Canada, as applicable.

b. Repeat an inspection and lubrication of the PCU attachment joints in accordance with SB A700-1A11-27-024 basic issue dated 2 October 2008 or later revisions approved by the Chief, Continuing Airworthiness, or SB A700-27-066 basic issue dated 2 October 2008 or later revisions approved by the Chief, Continuing Airworthiness, Transport Canada, as applicable.
