AD/RES/23 Amdt 1 - Davis FDC-6400B Series Safety Belts (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/RES/23 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Restraint Equipment AD/RES/23 Amdt 1 Davis FDC-6400B Series Safety Belts 13/2008

Applicability: All Davis FDC-6400B series safety belts with part numbers listed in Requirement document. Requirement: Remove from service all safety belts listed in Davis Aircraft Products SB No. 1 and replace with an approved safety belt.

Note 1: The removed belt may be modified by replacing the adapter in accordance with the Davis Service Bulletin.

Note 2: FAA AD 89-09-02. Amdt 39-6102 refers. Compliance: Within 100 hours time in service after 10 August, 1989 or at the next scheduled inspection for Maintenance Release issue after 10 August 1989 whichever is later. This Amendment becomes effective on 18 December 2008. Background: Davis has received reports of cracks in the buckle cover latch. Potential exists for the buckle release mechanism to jam under emergency evacuation conditions.

This amendment corrects the title reference.

The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 10 August 1989.
