AD/CL-600/110 - Flap Actuator Pinion Gear (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Bombardier (Canadair) CL-600 (Challenger) Series Aeroplanes AD/CL-600/110 Flap Actuator Pinion Gear 7/2009

Applicability: All Bombardier Inc Model CL-600-2B19 aircraft, serial number (S/N) 7003 and subsequent, equipped with Inboard Flap Actuators Part Number (P/N) 601R93101-21 (Eaton P/N 852D100-21) or P/N 601R93101-25 (Eaton P/N 852D100-25). Requirement: 1. a. Inspect the S/N of each of the Flap Actuators P/N 601R93101-21 and P/N 601R93101-25 installed on the aircraft.

b. If the serial number of the inspected actuator is listed below, replace the Flap Actuator with the P/N 601R93101-21 or P/N 601R93101-25 that does not have one of the following serial numbers:

Note 1: Replacing the existing Flap Actuator P/N 601R93101-21 with the P/N 601R93101-25 that does not have a serial number listed in paragraph (B) of this AD also satisfies the requirement of Part A of this directive.
