AD/ERJ 190/24 - Ram Air Turbine (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Embraer ERJ-190 Series Aeroplanes AD/ERJ 190/24 Ram Air Turbine 21/2009

Applicability: ERJ-190 model aircraft equipped with a Ram Air Turbine (RAT) part number (P/N) 1703781 with serial numbers (S/N) 0005 and 0101 thru 0419. Requirement: 1. If not previously accomplished, verify the S/N of RATs with P/N 1703781. 2. If RAT has S/N 0110, 0150, 0255 or 0354 thru 0419, reidentify RAT P/N from 1703781 to 1703781A. 3. If RAT has S/N 0005, 0101 thru 0109, 0111 thru 0149, 0151 thru 0254 or 0256 thru 0353, replace the RAT with another one with P/N 1703781A. The detailed instructions and procedures to accomplish this Directive are described in the Embraer Service Bulletin 190-24-0012 original issue dated 4 May 2007 or further revisions approved by the Brazilian Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC). Note: ANAC AD 2007-12-02 refers. Compliance: For Requirement 1 - Within the next 1300 hours time in service (TIS) or 6 months after the effective date of this Directive, whichever occurs first. For Requirement 2 - Before further flight after the Requirement 1 verification. For Requirement 3 - Within the next 6000 hours TIS or 26 months after the effective date of this Directive, whichever occurs first. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 19 November 2009.
