AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/SF340/5 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
SAAB SF340 Series Aeroplanes AD/SF340/5 Amdt 1 Installation of Tail De-Icer 24/2009 Valve Heater Blanket
Applicability: All models with serial No's 340-003 to 041, 044 and 047 Requirement: Action in accordance with SAAB Fairchild Service Bulletin (SB) SF340-30-015 Rev.1.
The use of later approved revisions of the Requirement document is acceptable for compliance with the requirements of this AD.
Note: Swedish AD No. 1-010 Rev. A refers. Compliance: If not already accomplished, prior to 30 March 2010. This Amendment becomes effective on 17 December 2009. Background: Service experience has shown that the tail de-icer distribution valve is susceptible to freezing due to moisture ingress.
This amendment updates the revision status of both the requirement document and the applicable Swedish AD.
