AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/B767/256 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section. Boeing 767 Series Aeroplanes AD/B767/256 Amdt 1 State of Design Airworthiness Directives 18/2010 Applicability: Boeing 767 aircraft. Requirement: 1. Determine the applicability of the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airworthiness Directives (ADs) listed in Table 1. 2. If it is determined that an FAA AD listed in Table 1 is applicable and has not been previously accomplished, perform the actions required by that AD or later FAA-approved revision. Service Bulletins approved by the FAA as Alternative Methods of Compliance (AMOC) to the FAA ADs listed in the Table 1 are considered acceptable for compliance with the equivalent requirements of this Directive. If a certificate of airworthiness has been issued for the aircraft - before further flight after 19 October 2010. This Amendment becomes effective on 10 September 2010. Note 2: This amendment relieves the operator of certain requirements and so the compliance dates have been maintained as per the original issue. Background: The FAA ADs listed in Table 1 of this Directive require once-only actions for which the compliance date has passed. CASA has determined that these ADs may be applicable to some Australian aircraft. This Directive is issued to ensure compliance with all State of Design ADs. CASA appreciates that, due to date of aircraft manufacture or aircraft configuration and modification status, some of the ADs listed in Table 1 will not be applicable to any aircraft presently registered in Australia. This Amendment removes two FAA ADs from the Requirements section listed in Table 1 whose actions are covered or superseded by other Airworthiness Directives.
