Dated 3 December 2010 CHRIS EVANS Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations 1 Name of Notice This Notice is the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Definition of Employee) Notice 2010 (1). 2 Commencement This Notice commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments. 3 Declaration For the purposes of subsection 5(6) of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988, I declare that: (a) the class of persons specified in Column 1 of the Schedule, being persons who engage in the activities or perform acts specified in Column 2 of the Schedule, at the request or direction, or for the benefit, of the Commonwealth, shall be taken to be employed by the Commonwealth; and (b) the employment of such persons shall, for those purposes, be taken to be constituted by the performance by such persons of the acts or activities specified in Column 2 of the Schedule. Schedule Column 1: Class of persons Column 2: Class of acts Persons who, under the control or direction of a Commonwealth officer assist, without receiving remuneration (other than payment of expenses incurred), in the operation of Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre.
