AD/CESSNA 400/86 Amdt 2 - Powerplant Fire Detection System - Installation (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below repeals Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/CESSNA 400/86 Amdt 1 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001 (1) of CASR 1998 and subsection 33 (3) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct an unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Cessna 400 Series Aeroplanes AD/CESSNA 400/86 Amdt 2 Powerplant Fire Detection 24/2013 System - Installation

Applicability: All models. Requirement: 1. Install a powerplant fire detection system acceptable to CASA.

2. Ensure that maintenance instructions for the system are adequately detailed in the approved maintenance program for the system.

Note 1. Fire detection systems which have been shown to comply with Part 23.1203 of the US Federal Aviation Regulations are an acceptable means of compliance with this Airworthiness Directive.

Note 2. It is recommended, in the interest of safety, that when complying with this Directive, consideration be given to the installation of both audible fire warning devices and fire extinguishing systems. Compliance: Remains unchanged as detailed in Amendment 1 of this AD as: Before 1 April 1983. The effective date of this AD is 29 November 2013. Background: Amendment 2 of this Directive has been issued only to remove obsolete terms and references to obsolete regulations in the Requirement and in Note 2.
