Specification — examinations for aircraft maintenance engineer licence category instruments
1 Commencement This instrument commences on the day after registration.
2 Repeal (1)Instrument CASA 290/06, also known as F2006L03277, is repealed. (2)Instrument CASA 290/06 as amended, also known as F2010C00104, is repealed.
3 Specification — examinations for licence or additional ratings For subsection 6 of CAO 100.95, the examinations mentioned in Schedule 1 are specified for the grant of a licence, or endorsement of additional ratings for a specific aircraft type, for the category instruments.
Schedule 1 Examinations for category instruments
1 Core subject examinations (1) The core subject examinations for a licence group in table 1 of this Schedule (table 1) are indicated by the symbol * in the column for the licence group. (2) The core subject examination digital techniques, computers and electronic devices (code QE) is required only: (a) to certify for a system classified as digital in accordance with subsection 2 of CAO 100.95; or (b) for initial issue of a licence after 1 July 1989. Note The licence of a person without a credit for examination (code QE) is, therefore, subject to a limitation and will be endorsed accordingly.
2 Specific group subject examinations (1) The specific group subject examinations for a licence group in table 1 are indicated by the symbol * in the column for the licence group. (2) Subject to subclause (3), the additional specific group subject examinations for licence group 20 in table 1 for a specific aircraft type are indicated by the symbol # in the column for the licence group. (3) For licence group 20 in table 1, a candidate must pass the specific group subject examinations only in the instruments installed on the specific aircraft type for which the rating is sought.
