1 Name of declaration
This declaration is the Social Security (Declared Overseas Terrorist Act) Declaration 2017— Stockholm, Manchester, Baghdad and London (3 June 2017)
2 Commencement
This declaration commences on the day after this instrument is registered.
3 Definitions
In this declaration:
Act means the Social Security Act 1991.
terrorist act has the same meaning as in subsection 100.1(1) of the Criminal Code.
4 Declared overseas terrorist act
For the purposes of subsection 35B(1) of the Act, the following terrorist acts are declared overseas terrorist acts:
1) The attack at approximately 15:00 hours (local time) on Friday 7 April 2017 along Drottninggatan Street between Adolf Fredriks Kyrkogata and the Ahlens department store in Stockholm, Sweden.
2) The attack at approximately 22:35 hours (local time) on Monday 22 May 2017 in the box office exit foyer of the Manchester Arena, near the entrance to Victoria railway and tram station, in Manchester, the United Kingdom.
3) The bombing shortly after midnight (local time) on Tuesday 30 May 2017 outside the Al-Faqma ice cream parlour on Karrada Kharidge Road, in the Karrada District in Baghdad, Iraq.
4) The attack at approximately 22:08 (local time) on Saturday 3 June 2017 on London Bridge and at the following locations in the Borough Market area in London, the United Kingdom:
1. outside and around the Borrow Boy and Banker Pub, 8 Borough High Street, SE1 9QQ
