AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct an unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Bell Helicopter Textron 214B and 214B-1 Series Helicopters

Applicability: All Bell Helicopter Textron model 214B and 214B-1 Series Helicopters.
Requirement: 1. Determine the applicability of the FAA Airworthiness Directives (ADs) listed in Table 1.
2. If it is determined that an FAA AD listed in Table 1 and as in force at the time of issue of this AD, is applicable and has not been previously complied with, perform the actions required by that AD.

Compliance: If a Certificate of Airworthiness (CofA) has not been issued for the helicopter – before the issue of the CofA.
If a CofA has been issued for the helicopter – within 30 days after the effective date of this Directive.
The effective date of this AD is 27 April 2018.
Background: The FAA ADs listed in Table 1 of this Directive require once-only actions for which the compliance date and/or period has passed. CASA has determined that these ADs may be applicable to recently registered Bell 214 helicopters. This Directive is issued to ensure all State of Design ADs are complied with.
CASA acknowledges that, due to date of aircraft manufacture or aircraft configuration and modification status, some of the ADs listed in Table 1 will not be applicable to some aircraft.
