Proclamation - Special Public & Bank Holidays 2019 Territory of Cocos (Keeling) Islands
I, Natasha Griggs, Administrator of the Territory of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, under the powers delegated to me under Section 7 of the Public and Bank Holidays Act 1972 (WA)(CKI), appoint the following days to be special Public and Bank Holidays in the Territory of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands:
Act of Self-Determination Day Monday, 08 April 2019 (in lieu of Saturday, 06 April 2019)
Hari Raya Puasa Wednesday, 05 June 2019*
Hari Raya Haji Monday, 12 August 2019* (in lieu of Sunday, 11 August 2019)
Islamic New Year Monday, 02 September 2019* (in lieu of Sunday, 1 September 2019)
Hari Maulad Nabi Monday, 11 November 2019* (in lieu of Saturday, 9 November 2019)
*Dates subject to change: the Islamic calendar is based on lunar observation. Although it is possible to estimate with a reasonable degree of accuracy the lunar calendar in advance, the dates will be subject to the sighting of the new moon. The above dates may vary by one or two days.
