1 Name This instrument is the Industry Research and Development (Australia-India Strategic Research Fund Program) Instrument 2019.
2 Commencement (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3 Authority This instrument is made under section 33 of the Industry Research and Development Act 1986.
4 Definitions In this instrument: Act means the Industry Research and Development Act 1986. program means the Australia‑India Strategic Research Fund Program.
5 Prescribed program (1) For the purposes of subsection 33(1) of the Act, the program is prescribed. (2) The program provides funding to support Australian researchers and organisations from both the public and private sectors to do the following: (a) participate in research projects, workshops, fellowships, exchanges, missions and other collaborative activities with their Indian counterparts; (b) support the development of strategic alliances between Australian and Indian research organisations, learned academies and other relevant entities; (c) build links between Australian and Indian research and business communities to help capture new innovation opportunities. (3) The purpose of the program is to strengthen collaboration between Australia and India in science, technology and innovation to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
