Notice – Proclamation – Special Public & Bank Holidays 2019 Territory of Cocos (Keeling) Islands No 01/2019, Monday, 4 February 2019 Cocos (Keeling) Islands Act 1955 I, Natasha Griggs, Administrator of the Territory of Cocos (Keeling) Islands under the powers delegated to me under the Public and Bank Holidays Act 1972 (WA)(CKI), as enabled by section 8A of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands Act 1955, determine that the following days are to be special Public and Bank Holidays in the Territory of Cocos (Keeling) Islands as of 4 February 2019. Act of Self Determination Day Wednesday, 10 April 2019 Hari Raya Puasa Wednesday, 05 June 2019* Hari Raya Haji Monday, 12 August 2019* (in lieu of Sunday, 11 August 2019) Islamic New Year Monday, 02 September 2019* (in lieu of Sunday, 1 September 2019) Hari Maulad Nabi Monday, 11 November 2019* (in lieu of Saturday, 9 November 2019) *Dates subject to change: the Islamic calendar is based on lunar observation. Although it is possible to estimate with a reasonable degree of accuracy the lunar calendar in advance, the dates will be subject to the sighting of the new moon.
