1 Name This instrument is the Social Security (Exempt Lump Sum – Relocation Assistance to Take Up a Job) Determination 2021.
2 Commencement (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3 Authority This instrument is made under paragraph 8(11)(d) of the Social Security Act 1991.
4 Definitions In this instrument: Act means the Social Security Act 1991. eligible participant means an individual who enters into a Relocation Assistance to Take-Up a Job Agreement on or after 1 May 2021. relocation assistance payment means, in the case of an eligible participant, an amount: (a) paid by, or on behalf of, the Commonwealth in accordance with a Relocation Assistance to Take-Up a Job Agreement; and (b) received by any means, including: (i) an advance payment to the individual; (ii) a reimbursement to the individual; or (iii) a direct payment to a supplier who provides a good or service to the individual. Relocation Assistance to Take-Up a Job Agreement means an agreement for the purposes of the program established by the Commonwealth and known as "Relocation Assistance to Take-Up a Job".
