1 Name This instrument is the Defence (Individual Benefits) Determination 2021 (No. 6). 2 Commencement This instrument commences on the day after registration. 3 Authority This instrument is made under section 58B of the Defence Act 1903. 4 Definitions In this Determination, the following apply. DFRT Determination means Defence Force Remuneration Tribunal Determination No. 2 of 2017, Salaries, as in force from time to time. Member means the member of the Australian Defence Force who holds the employee identification number 8080430. 5 Benefit 1. The member is eligible for a benefit that is equal to the fortnight rate of the positional component for pay point 3 under Part 3 of Schedule B.1 of the DFRT Determination. 2. The benefit under subsection 1 is to be paid fortnightly. 3. The fortnightly rate of the positional component is calculated using the following formula.
Where: A is the yearly remuneration rate for the positional component of pay point 3 under Part 3 of Schedule B.1 of the DFRT Determination. 6 Commencement benefit 1. The member is eligible for an amount that is equal to the daily rate of the benefit under subsection 5.1 for each day from 24 September 2021 until the day before the commencement of this Determination. 2. The daily rate of the benefit is one fourteenth of the rate calculated in subsection 5.3. 7 End of benefits The member ceases to be eligible for a benefit under this Determination on the earlier of the following days. a. The day the member ceases to occupy the position numbered 00650232. b. 7 July 2023.
