1 Name This instrument is the Defence Determination, Conditions of service Amendment Determination 2021 (No. 22).
2 Commencement This instrument commences 11 November 2021.
3 Authority This instrument is made under section 58B of the Defence Act 1903.
4 Schedules Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
Schedule 1—Career transition amendments
Defence Determination 2016/19, Conditions of service 1 Subparagraph 2.2.3.c.ii (Member this Part applies to) After the subparagraph, insert: Note: Retirement ages are provided under section 24 of the Defence Regulation. 2 Subparagraph 2.2.3.c.iii (Member this Part applies to) After the subparagraph, insert: Note: A member may change their period of service under section 18 of the Defence Regulation. 3 Subsection 2.2.5.1 (Career transition training) Omit the subsection, substitute: 1. Subject to subsection 3, a member is eligible on application for career transition training if all of the following apply and the CDF is satisfied that the training is aligned to a post-transition employment career path or meaningful engagement. a. The application is approved within 24 months of the member's transition date. b. The training commences within 24 months of the member's transition date. 4 Subsection 2.2.6.1 (Assistance for professional financial advice) After "A member is eligible on application for professional financial advice" insert "within 24 months of the member's transition date" 5 Subsection 2.2.8.1 (Approved absence) Omit the subsection, substitute: 1. This section does not apply to a member of the Reserves, other than a member of the Reserves on continuous full-time service.
