1 Name This instrument is the Social Security (Declared Overseas Terrorist Act—London 2019) Declaration 2022.
2 Commencement This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.
3 Authority This instrument is made under subsection 35B(1) of the Social Security Act 1991.
4 Definitions In this instrument, terrorist act has the same meaning as in subsection 100.1(1) of the Criminal Code.
5 Declared overseas terrorist act The following terrorist act is a declared overseas terrorist act: (a) the knife attack at Fishmongers' Hall and London Bridge in London, the United Kingdom, on 29 November 2019 at approximately 2 pm GMT.
Note: If the Prime Minister makes a declaration under subsection 35B(1) of the Social Security Act 1991, then subsection 35B(2) provides that the Minister is taken to have made a determination under subsection 36(1) that the terrorist act is a major disaster.
