The Australian Fisheries Management Authority makes the following determination in accordance with a decision made by the Commissioners under section 23 of the Fisheries Administration Act 1991.

1 Name This instrument is the Western Tuna and Billfish Fishery (Fishing Season) Determination 2022.
2 Commencement This instrument commences the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.
3 Cessation This instrument ceases on 15 March 2032.
4 Authority This instrument is made pursuant to section 17(6)(aa) of the Fisheries Management Act 1991 under section 3 of the Western Tuna and Billfish Fishery Management Plan 2005.
5 Definitions A term used in this instrument that is defined for the purposes of the Western Tuna and Billfish Fishery Management Plan 2005 (the Plan) has the same meaning in this instrument as it has in the Plan.
Note: Terms defined in the Fisheries Management Act 1991 have the same meaning in this instrument.
6 Determination of fishing season The fishing season in the Western Tuna and Billfish Fishery is the period starting on 1 February in a year and ending on 31 January in the following year.
