Part 1—Preliminary
1 Name This instrument is the National Health (Eligible Midwives) Determination 2022.
2 Commencement (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3 Authority This instrument is made under subsection 84AAE(3) of the National Health Act 1953.
4 Definitions
Note: A number of expressions used in this instrument are defined in the Act, including the following: (a) midwife. In this instrument: Act means the National Health Act 1953. eligible midwife has the same meaning as in Part VII of the Act. Health Practitioner Regulation National Law has the same meaning as in the Regulations. National Board has the same meaning as in the Regulations. Regulations means the National Health Regulation 2016. scheduled medicine has the same meaning as in the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law.
