1 Name This instrument is the Veterans' Entitlements (Actuarial Certificates – Lifetime Income Stream and Life Expectancy Income Stream Guidelines) Determination 2023.
2 Commencement This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.
3 Authority This instrument is made under sections 5JA and 5JB of the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986.
4 Interpretation In this instrument: Act means the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986. annuity backed self managed superannuation fund means a self managed superannuation fund with an income stream that is fully backed by an annuity sourced from a life insurance company. annuity backed small APRA fund means a small APRA fund with an income stream that is fully backed by an annuity sourced from a life insurance company. life insurance company has the same meaning as in subsection 10(1) of the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993. self managed superannuation fund has the same meaning as in section 17A of the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993. small APRA fund has the same meaning as in subsection 1017BB(6) of the Corporations Act 2001. Note: Terms used in this instrument have the same meaning as they do in the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986. For example, the term Commission is defined in that Act.
5 Schedules Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
