I, Matthew Brine, delegate of the Secretary of the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts, make the following notifiable instrument.

1 Name This notifiable instrument is the Telecommunications (Regional Broadband Scheme Special Account) (Direction for Offset Debit—Administrative cost component) Notifiable Instrument 2023.
2 Commencement This notifiable instrument commences on the day after it is made.
3 Authority This notifiable instrument is made under subsection 92A(1) of the Act and in reliance of the Secretary's Regional Broadband Scheme (Contracts and Grants and related matters) Delegation Instrument 2022 (No. 1).
Note : The power under subsection 92A(1) of the Act has been delegated under the Secretary's Delegation Instrument to SES Band 2 officers within the Department (subclause 6(1) and Item 1.11 of the table at Schedule 1 to the Delegation Instrument).
4 Definitions In this instrument: Act means the Telecommunications (Consumer Protection and Service Standards) Act 1999. Regional Broadband Scheme Special Account means the special account established by subsection 89(1) of the Act.
5 Direction In accordance with subsection 92A(1) of the Act, I direct that the amount of $589,000 is to be debited from the Regional Broadband Scheme Special Account.
Note 1: The effect of the direction is to allow the specified amount relating to the administrative cost component of the Regional Broadband Scheme charge to be transferred from the Regional Broadband Scheme Special Account to the general Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF).
