Australian Securities and Investments Commission (Financial Reporting Council – Acting Member) Appointment (No. 1) 2023
I, Jim Chalmers, Treasurer, under subsections 235A(1) and 235AA(6) of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001 (the Act) and subsection 33(4) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, appoint Douglas Niven as an acting member of the Financial Reporting Council, on a part-time basis, for the period beginning on 31 July 2023 until the earlier of:
(a) 31 October 2023; or
(b) the appointment of the next Chair of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, under subsection 236F(1) of the Act, takes effect.
