Christmas Island Act 1958
I, Farzian Zainal, Administrator of the Territory of Christmas Island under the powers delegated to me under the Public and Bank Holidays Act 1972 (WA)(CI), as enabled by section 8A of the Christmas Island Act 1958, determine that the following days are to be special Public and Bank Holidays in the Territory Christmas Island as of Friday, 25 August 2023. Chinese New Year (Day 1) Monday, 12 February 2024 (in lieu of Saturday, 10 February 2024)
Chinese New Year (Day 2) Tuesday, 13 February 2024 (in lieu of Sunday, 11 February 2024)
Labour Day Monday, 18 March 2024
Hari Raya Puasa Wednesday, 10 April 2024*
Hari Raya Haji Monday, 17 June 2024*
*Dates subject to change: The Islamic calendar is based on lunar observation. Although it is possible to estimate with a reasonable degree of accuracy the lunar calendar in advance, the dates will be subject to the sighting of the new moon. The above dates may vary by one or two days.
