Social Security (AGDRP Qualification) Determination 2023
I, Murray Watt, Minister for Emergency Management, under subsection 1061K(3A) of the Social Security Act 1991 (the Act), determine that a person can qualify for an Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP) if the person: (a) has been in Australia for: (i) a period of no less than 13 weeks; or (ii) two or more periods of no less than 13 weeks in total; within the period of 19 weeks ending on the day a major disaster is determined under subsection 36(1) of the Act; and (b) is a person mentioned in paragraph 1061K(3A)(b) of the Act. Note: Item 4 of the table under subsection 36(1) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901 provides that a period of time referred to in an Act that is expressed to end at, on or with a specified day includes that day.
This determination commences on the day after it is registered.
