HEALTH INSURANCE ACT 1973 Health Insurance (Medicare Benefits Payable in Respect of Professional Services – Palm Island New Company & Palm Island Community Company) Direction 2023 I, Louise Riley, Acting First Assistant Secretary, Medicare Benefits and Digital Health Division, Health Resourcing Group, delegate for the Minister for Health and Aged Care, acting under subsection 19(2) of the Health Insurance Act 1973 (the Act), hereby: (1) REVOKE the direction under subsection 19(2) of the Act that was granted on 30 June 2021 that Medicare benefits shall be payable in respect of a professional service rendered to a person who is receiving a medical service by a practitioner employed or engaged by the Palm Island New Company Ltd or the Palm Island Community Company Ltd. DECLARE that this Direction commences on 31 December 2023.
