1 Name This instrument is the Public Lending Right Scheme (Payment Rates) Modification 2024.
2 Commencement The whole of this instrument commences on the day after it is registered.
3 Authority This instrument is made under paragraph 5(1)(b) of the Public Lending Right Act 1985.
4 Schedules The Public Lending Right Scheme 2016 is modified as set out in Schedule 1 to this instrument.

Public Lending Right Scheme 2016
1 Subsection 14(2) Repeal the subsection, substitute: (2) The creators' public lending right rate of payment is provided by the following table:
Estimated number of copies of a book Rate of payment
Up to 2,000 copies $2.30 per copy
2,001 – 5,000 copies $2.28 per copy
5,001 – 20,000 copies $2.26 per copy
20,001 – 70,000 copies $2.20 per copy
70,001 copies or more $1.89 per copy
2 Subsection 15(2) Repeal the subsection, substitute: (2) The publishers' public lending right rate of payment is provided by the following table:

2,001 – 5,000 copies 57.0 cents per copy
5,001 – 20,000 copies 56.5 cents per copy
20,001 – 70,000 copies 55.0 cents per copy
