Part 1—Preliminary
1 Name This instrument is the Identity Verification Services Rules 2024.
2 Commencement (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3 Authority This instrument is made under the Identity Verification Services Act 2023.
4 Definitions In this instrument: Act means the Identity Verification Services Act 2023.
Part 2—Participation agreements
5 Prescribed privacy laws For the purposes of subparagraph 9(1)(b)(ii) of the Act, each of the following is a prescribed privacy law: (a) the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW); (b) the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic.); (c) the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld); (d) the Personal Information Protection Act 2004 (Tas.); (e) the Information Privacy Act 2014 (ACT); (f) the Information Act 2002 (NT).
