This instrument is the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (National Recovery Plan for the Southern Right Whale (Eubalaena australis)) Instrument 2024.

2 Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

3 Authority This instrument is made under subsection 269A(3) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

4 Jointly made recovery plan The National Recovery Plan for the Southern Right Whale (Eubalaena australis) in this instrument is jointly made with Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia, as agreed by the following State Ministers: (a) the Minister for the Environment and the Great Barrier Reef; Minister for Science and Innovation (Queensland); (b) the Minister for Climate, Environment and Water; Minister for Defence and Space Industries; Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science (South Australia); (a) the Minister for Energy and Renewables; Minister for Parks and Environment (Tasmania); (b) the Minister for Environment; Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events; Minister for Outdoor Recreation (Victoria). (c) the Minister for Energy; Environment; Climate Action (Western Australia).
