1 Name This instrument is the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative—Beef Cattle Herd Management—Application Suspension) Order 2024.
2 Commencement This order commences on the day after it is registered.
3 Authority This order is made under subsection 27A(1) of the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011.
4 Definitions In this order: Act means the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011. specified methodology determination means the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative—Beef Cattle Herd Management) Methodology Determination 2015. specified period: see section 5.
5 Specified period The specified period for this order: 1. begins when this order commences; and 2. ends on 30 September 2025.
6 Suspension of processing of applications for declarations of eligible offsets projects If an application is made under section 22 of the Act during the specified period and the application relates to an offsets project covered by the specified methodology determination, the Regulator must not: 1. consider the application during that period; or 2. make a decision on the application during that period.
7 Repeal For the purposes of section 27A of the Act and subsection 33(3) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, this order is repealed on 30 September 2025.
