Dated December 2022 Gerard Martin First Assistant Secretary, Ministerial Support Division, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Contents 1 Name 2 Commencement 3 Authority 4 Application 5 Definitions 6 Purpose 7 Period of operation 8 Adjustment of salary and allowances Schedule 1—Salaries and allowances 1 Salaries 2 Allowances 1 Name This determination is the Prime Minister's Official Establishments Employees Determination 2022/01. 2 Commencement This determination commences on the date it is signed. 3 Authority This determination is made under Part lll, subsection 13(1), of the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 4 Application This determination applies to non‑SES employees employed as the Prime Minister's Official Establishments employees under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 who are covered by the Prime Minister' Official Establishments Employees Determination 2020-2023. 5 Definitions In this determination: Comprehensive Determination means the comprehensive determination that took effect on 10 October 2020 and known as the Prime Minister' Official Establishments Employees Determination No. 2020-2023. Employee(s) means the persons employed as the Prime Minister's Official Establishments employees under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 who are covered by the Comprehensive Determination. 6 Purpose The purpose of this determination is to adjust employees salaries and allowances for which they are eligible under the terms of the Comprehensive Determination. 7 Period of operation This determination is in force for the period: (a) beginning at the start of the day this determination commences; and (b) ending at the earlier of the following: (i) the start of the day that an enterprise agreement is made in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009 that covers the employees and replaces the Prime Minister' Official Establishments Employees Determination 2020-2023 commences operation; or (ii) the start of the day that another determination that applies to the employees and revokes the Comprehensive Determination, comes into force. 8 Adjustment of salary and allowances (1) Employees' salaries are adjusted by 1%, with effect on commencement. (2) The adjustment is to be calculated based on the salary immediately before the adjustment under subsection (1). (3) Corporate Responsibility Allowances (First Aid Officer, Fire Warden, Health and Safety Representative allowances) are adjusted by the same percentage as salaries, with effect on commencement. (4) Each adjustment of an allowance is to be calculated based on the allowance immediately before the adjustment under subsection (3). (5) Schedule 1 has effect.
