Notice – Proclamation – Special Public & Bank Holidays 2025 Territory of Christmas Island No 02/2024, Wednesday, 28 August 2024 Christmas Island Act 1958 I, Farzian Zainal, Administrator of the Territory of Christmas Island under the powers delegated to me under the Public and Bank Holidays Act 1972 (WA)(CI), as enabled by section 8A of the Christmas Island Act 1958, determine that the following days are to be special Public and Bank Holidays in the Territory Christmas Island as of Wednesday 28 August 2024. Chinese New Year (Day 1) Wednesday, 29 January 2025 Chinese New Year (Day 2) Thursday, 30 January 2025 Labour Day Monday, 24 March 2025 Hari Raya Puasa Monday, 31 March 2025* Hari Raya Haji Friday, 6 June 2025* *Dates subject to change: The Islamic calendar is based on lunar observation. Although it is possible to estimate with a reasonable degree of accuracy the lunar calendar in advance, the dates will be subject to the sighting of the new moon.
