1 Name This instrument is the Higher Education Support (Other Grants) Amendment (Disability Support Programs) Guidelines 2025.
2 Commencement This instrument commences the day after this instrument is registered.
3 Authority This instrument is made under section 238-10 of the Higher Education Support Act 2003.
4 Schedules Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
Schedule 1—Amendments
Higher Education Support (Other Grants) Guidelines 2022
1 Section 4 Insert:
CAST means the nonprofit education, research and development organisation that created Universal Design for Learning and the UDL Guidelines 3.0 whose website can be found at https://www.cast.org/.
Universal Design for Learning means the educational framework developed by CAST to guide learning goals, material, methods and assessments based on learner diversity, supported by the UDL Guidelines.
UDL Guidelines 3.0 means the tool used in the implementation of the Universal Design for Learning framework developed by CAST, which offers concrete suggestions to support educators and facilitators to apply the UDL framework, as in force at the commencement of the Higher Education Support (Other Grants) Amendment (Disability Support Programs) Guidelines 2025. Note: The UDL Guidelines as in force at the time the Higher Education Support (Other Grants) Amendment (Disability Support Programs) Guidelines 2025 commenced can be viewed on the CAST website at https://udlguidelines.cast.org/more/downloads/.
