Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2000 Subregulation 12.23(3) HEARD ISLAND AND MCDONALD ISLANDS MARINE RESERVE
PROHIBITION OF ENTRY TO PART OF THE RESERVE
I, PHILLIP BOXALL, Acting Head of Division, Australian Antarctic Division, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, as delegate of the Director of National Parks under subregulation 12.23(3) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2000 (the Regulations), PROHIBIT entry to that part of Heard Island and McDonald Islands Marine Reserve being the Territory of Heard Island and McDonald Islands ('the Territory') and the territorial sea around the Territory, being the area described in Schedule 1, by all persons at all times, except for: * officers, servants and agents of the Commonwealth of Australia and its authorities acting in the course of their duties; * persons permitted entry in accordance with subsection 12(2) of the Environment Protection and Management Ordinance 1987 (HIMI); and * persons authorised by the Director of National Parks. I REVOKE the Heard Island and McDonald Islands Marine Reserve Prohibition of Entry to Part of the Reserve, (published in the Gazette (C2014G00771) on 14 May 2014) under subregulation 12.23(3) of the Regulations and subsection 33(3) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901. This Prohibition notice commences the day after registration. Dated 29 January 2025
