Introduction 1. The substantive proceedings concerned the administrative review of a decision made by a delegate of the Commissioner of Police, NSW Police Force ("the Respondent"), to refuse an application made by Andrew Sorensen ("the Applicant") for a category AB firearms licence under the Firearms Act 1996 ("the Act"). 2. The matter was listed for hearing on 16 July 2024. On 26 June 2024, the Respondent lodged an application for dismissal of the proceedings on the basis that the proceedings were misconceived. 3. The Applicant withdrew his application on the day of the hearing. 4. The Respondent lodged an application for costs following the Applicant's withdrawal of his application.
