1 The Appeal Panel has considered its decision in relation to the appeal from Mr Mayhew which relates to a decision of the Equal Opportunity Tribunal, made on 29 September 1998, in relation to a complaint brought by a person named A (the identity and other identifying particulars of whom were the subject of a suppression order made on 20 August 1998 which remains in force).
2 On 15 October 1998, pursuant to s.113 of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal Act 1997 ('the Act'), the appellant filed a notice of appeal in respect of a decision which was adverse to him made under the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 ('the ADA'). That decision, as I have noted already, was made on 29 September 1998. It is an appealable decision under the Act: see s.112; and also s.118 of the ADA. The Act commenced operation on 6 October 1998.
