JUDGMENT:
The Legal Profession Disciplinary Tribunal In the matter of Peter Edgar Chase Determination and Orders
In this matter the Council of the Law Society of New South Wales (The Complainant) made complaint to the Tribunal in respect of Peter Edgar Chase (The Solicitor) pursuant to Section 135 of the Legal Profession Act 1987 (The 1987 Act). The Society alleged by its complaint that the Solicitor's conduct referred to therein amounted to professional misconduct. It sought such order as the Tribunal deemed fit and certain ancillary orders.
The matter was heard by the Tribunal on 27 November 1989 when the Tribunal reserved its decision. Mr P R Garling of Counsel instructed by Miss Rosemary MacDougal Solicitor appeared for the Complainant. Mr L Morris QC of Senior Counsel with him Mr P McManamey of Junior Counsel instructed by Messrs W G McNally & Co appeared for the Solicitor.
