Recorded Music and Visual Entertainment Reproduction (State) Award
Application by The Recorded Media Industry Union of New South Wales
DECISION
[2006] NSWIRComm 1187
1 This is an application pursuant to section 17 of the Industrial Relations Act 1996 ("the Act") filed on 10 November 2006 by The Recorded Media Industry Union of New South Wales ("the Union") for variation of an award.
2 The matter was listed for Consent Hearing on 24 November 2006. The following appearances were entered:
· Mr N Rudd - the Union
· Ms J Wang - Australian Business Industrial
· Ms P Brunner - Employers First
3 There was no appearance by Australian Industry Group NSW Branch. The Union undertook to write to that respondent advising of today's proceedings. The Union was contacted on 20 December 2006 and Mr Rudd confirmed it had written to that respondent and no response had been received by that respondent objecting to the processing of the Application.
4 Mr Rudd addressed the Commission on the Union's application to vary the Recorded Music and Visual Entertainment Reproduction (State) Award ("the Award"). The application sought to vary the Award so as to increase wages and work related allowances pursuant to the 2006 State Wage Case Decision.
5 Mr Rudd tendered an Amended Schedule B (without objection) during proceedings as to wages and allowances variation sought.
6 The Union's application provided the undertakings as to off-setting as required by the relevant part of the State Wage Case Principles.
7 The various employer organisations consented to the application.
8 The Commission handed down an Ex Tempore Decision granting the application.
9 The Commission hereby confirms the Ex Tempore Decision made in this matter on 24 November 2006 and the Award is varied accordingly.
10 The variation to the Award shall take effect from the first full pay period to commence on or after 24 November 2006.
A Macdonald
Commissioner
