JUDGMENT 1 JAMES J: The Court is prepared to grant an adjournment. This is an application by Kevin Andrew Mahe for leave to appeal against sentences passed on him in the District Court on 11 December 1998 by his Honour Acting Judge Ford QC. 2 Mr Mahe is unrepresented, Legal Aid having been refused. When the matter was called on for hearing to-day Mr Mahe made an application for an adjournment on the ground that he was not ready to proceed with the application to-day. The Crown's submissions on the application for leave to appeal against sentence were sent by facsimile to the Correctional Centre where Mr Mahe is being held, only last night. The Crown does not oppose the application for an adjournment. I have informed Mr Mahe that it is not possible for the Court to say when his application will be heard, if the application is adjourned. 3 In the circumstances, the Court has decided to grant the application for an adjournment. The matter will be stood out of to-day's list and placed in the next available Court of Criminal Appeal callover list for the purpose of fixing a fresh date for the hearing of the application for leave to appeal against sentence. **********
