ON SENTENCE
1 HIS HONOUR: Before the Court for sentence are three prisoners: Phong Ngoc Pham, Vu Ngoc Pham and Minh Hoang Nguyen. When referring to them by name I shall use, respectively, the form: Phong Pham, Vu Pham and Minh Nguyen. 2 On 13 May 2002 the three prisoners were arraigned in this Court upon an indictment charging each of them with the murder, on or about 31 July 1996 at Fairfield, of one Thanh Chi Ly. The indictment charged additionally that each of Vu Pham and Minh Nguyen had unlawfully imprisoned, on 31 July 1996 at Fairfield, one Phuong Vu Lam.
