DECISION : 1. Pursuant to s 16(1) of the Crimes (Serious Sex Offenders) Act 2006 the defendant, Christopher Paul Winters, be detained at a correctional centre on an interim basis for a period of 28 days from 17 June 2007; 2. Order pursuant to section 20, subsection 1 of the Act that a warrant issue for the committal of Christopher Paul Winters to a correctional centre for the period specified in order 1 above; 3. Order that two qualified psychiatrists conduct separate psychiatric examinations of Christopher Paul Winters and that those two psychiatrists furnish reports to the Supreme Court on the results of those examinations and that the results of those examinations be provided to the court on or before 4.00 pm on 9 July 2007. Direct the defendant to attend those examinations; 4. Direct that the defendant is to serve any evidence on which he relies not later than close of business on Wednesday 11 July and the plaintiff is to serve any evidence upon which he relies in reply not later than close of business on Friday 13 July next; 5. Stand the summons over to hearing 10am Tuesday 17 July noting the estimate is three days plus; 6. Give the parties liberty to apply on three days notice to the list judge.
