Waste Assets Management Corporation Act 2010 No 8
An Act to provide for the transfer of the business of the Waste Recycling and Processing Corporation; and for other purposes.
Part 1 Preliminary
1 Name of Act This Act is the Waste Assets Management Corporation Act 2010.
2 Commencement (1) This Act commences on the date of assent to this Act, except as provided by subsection (2). (2) Section 30 and Schedule 6.2 commence on a day to be appointed by proclamation.
3 Definitions The dictionary in Schedule 1, clause 1 defines words used in this Act.

Division 1 Constitution of WAMC
3A Waste Assets Management Corporation (1) There is constituted by this Act a corporation with the corporate name of the Waste Assets Management Corporation (the Corporation). (2) The Corporation is a NSW Government agency and is, in the exercise of the Corporation's functions, subject to the control and direction of the Minister. (3) (Repealed)

3B Functions of WAMC (1) The WAMC has the following functions— (a) to acquire, control and manage contaminated land if, in the Chief Executive's opinion, the land presents a risk of harm to human health or the environment, (b) to provide services and do other things for the following purposes in relation to contaminated land acquired, controlled or managed under paragraph (a)— (i) the remediation of the land, (ii) the use or development of the land, (iii) activities that relate to or are incidental to the management, use or development of the land.
