Part 1 Preliminary
1.1 Name of Plan This Plan is Warren Local Environmental Plan 2012.
1.1AA Commencement This Plan commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.
1.2 Aims of Plan (1) This Plan aims to make local environmental planning provisions for land in Warren in accordance with the relevant standard environmental planning instrument under section 3.20 of the Act. (2) The particular aims of this Plan are as follows— (aa) to protect and promote the use and development of land for arts and cultural activity, including music and other performance arts, (a) to realise the economic potential of rural land in Warren by following the principles of sustainable natural resource management, (b) to encourage the proper management, development and conservation of natural and man-made resources in Warren by protecting, enhancing and conserving— (i) agricultural land, and (ii) timber, minerals, soil, water and other natural resources, and (iii) the Macquarie Marshes Nature Reserve, and (iv) areas of significance for nature conservation, and (v) areas of high scenic or recreational value, and (vi) places and buildings of archaeological or heritage significance, including relics and Aboriginal places of heritage significance, (c) to ensure that development is permitted on land with due regard to environmental constraints, accessibility and existing land use patterns, (d) to allow for the equitable provision of social services and facilities for the community, (e) to minimise land use conflicts and adverse environmental impacts, (f) to promote ecologically sustainable development.
